This website (scrollmicrolearning.app) and the Scroll: Daily Microlearning app for iPhone, iPad and Android are run by SyncLabs ("we", "us"). For anything about your data, email hello@scrollmicrolearning.app. We reply to privacy requests within 30 days.

Part 1: this website

You can use every page, lesson and tool here without an account, and we don't use advertising cookies.

Tools and quizzes run in your browser. What you type or answer isn't sent to us or stored on a server. A "Copy link" button puts your inputs into a link on your clipboard, and they go only where you paste it.
Your browser's local storage keeps your theme choice (light or dark) and, for tools that offer it, your last settings, on your device only. You can clear them in your browser settings.
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and gives us traffic totals that don't use cookies.
If you email us, we use your address and message to reply, and keep the conversation as long as we need it to deal with your request.
Links to the App Store and Google Play carry a tag naming the page you came from, so we can see which pages lead to installs. Apple and Google run their store pages under their own privacy policies.

We don't use Google Analytics or any other analytics cookies on this site. If that changes, this page will say so first, and a banner will ask before any cookie is set.

Part 2: the Scroll app

What we collect

Your email address and name when you create an account, and how you sign in (email, Apple or Google).
The interests you pick, so the feed shows those topics.
Learning progress: lessons read, quiz answers, XP, streaks, achievements, and lessons you save or like.
Purchases: your Premium status and any Knowledge Packs you bought before they were discontinued in October 2026.
Your time zone, so the free lesson counter and your streak reset at your midnight.
An IP address and user-agent string in our server's request log, used for security and to prevent abuse.

Daily reminders are scheduled on your phone, so no reminder data is sent to us. We don't collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera input, or advertising identifiers.

Why, and our legal basis

We use this data only to run the app: your account, a feed matched to your interests, progress and streaks, and access to what you've paid for. The legal basis is performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR and EU GDPR). The request log is processed under our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (Article 6(1)(f)).

Who processes it

Supabase: sign-in and account authentication.
Render: hosting for our server and database.
RevenueCat: in-app purchases and subscription status.
Apple and Google: Sign in with Apple, Google sign-in, and purchases through their stores.

We don't sell, rent or trade personal data, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

International transfers

Some of these providers store data outside the UK, including in the United States and the European Union. Where data leaves the UK or the EU, it's protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

As long as your account is open. You can delete your account in the app (Profile, then Delete Account), which removes your data from our systems within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep. Apple and Google keep their own purchase records.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, or ask us to move it to another service. Email hello@scrollmicrolearning.app. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority.

Children

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store and contains no ads or chat. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13 without a parent's consent; if you think a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you've already given us, we'll tell you in the app first.
